I find the fighters are always the most difficults to keep alive. Also don't forget potions! It's a good idea to give fighters invisibility potions: if they lose health faster than you can heal them, turning invisible to disengage and heal can save them. If you feel your fighters are dead weight and they don't happen to be painfully underlevelled, it's almost always a matter of giving them the right equipment. Generally speaking, fighters are heavily gear-dependant. You'll still have do deal with their priestesses (Cleric/Mages iirc) who probably will dispel your buffs. You need good saving throws and preferably outright stun protection: Berserker rage, Protection from Evil (raises both AC and saving throws against them, since they are evil), Free Action, Defensive Harmony (they can't stun you if your AC is too low for them to hit). Their strategy boils down to stunning your guys with crossbow bolts so they can kill them easily. Improved Sahuagin is an optional component and it makes them strong. Good armor, shields and casting Improved Invisibility on them help considerably. If you're dealing with vanilla elementals however, as long as you stack AC on your fighters they shouldn't die all that much. If you do have aTweaks, then yes - elemental portals will shred fighters in seconds without proper strategy (especially earth and air). for example ^^ĭo you have aTweaks installed? SCS elementals aren't much different from vanilla, it just puts a lot near the portals. elemental portals meant death to Berserker and inquisisitor, Sahuagin meant death to these two and my Ranger/cleric. BUT after the "huge"" update to 2H it doesnt work, seems the more win 10 ""updates "" the less games will run.All members are at 1.5mil exp, protective spells mostly, some debuffs. i would be happy if i could run it at 1024x768, 75% of my old steam/gog games do not run well, only the newer and many recent games run a charm, but i prefer good old games.Īnyway, i was able to get good old Fallout 1 + 2 to run on my 9700K on. ( i dont have many new games, maybe the latest games will run flawless, but as i dont have any/many, i can only run most of my casual games ( steam) BUT after the "huge"" update to 2H it doesnt work, seems the more win 10 ""updates "" the less games will run. modes: none worked for me.Its not te GPU, its a cpu thing with old games.Īnyway, i was able to get good old Fallout 1 + 2 to run on my 9700K on. My new setup i9700k with 32 gb ram also has same problem extreme high cpu usage, just like fallout 2, the old games ran best on my oldest pc : a p3, as for the compat. On win 7 64 bits i had exaxt same problems ( win 7 was also installed on my quadcore) I cant run it cause the main problem already existed on XP 32 bits : High cpu usage on my old quadcore 2,66 ghz i would be happy if i could run it at 1024x768, 75% of my old steam/gog games do not run well, only the newer and many recent games run a charm, but i prefer good old games. (the only main thing I haven't been able to do is increasing the game's resolution beyond the default's max of 1024x768.) To make the game run at 1024x768 (maximum default resolution) add -1024 to the shortcut in the Target area. It is also recommended to run the game in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode and with Admin rights. You just put rom2.exe in the root GOG's installation folder and use it instead of allods2.exe.īeyond that I also use ddrwapper for better performance (just extract it into the game's root directory). The only way I found to fix it is to use this modified executable. The map scrolling too fast when using the mouse is not fixed by default in GOG's installation. LunarBeing: Hi, this is what I found so far as making ROM2 more playable (took me quite some digging so I thought I'd share).
